Never Forget

I don't to watch much educational television any more but I recently caught an old episode of Art Express on PBS from 2006.

They interviewed Dr. Herbert Savel who uses his art to bring attention to the Holocaust. He wood carvings are truly moving and made me think. And isn't that what good art is supposed to do?

Each carving has a story of an individual behind it. As Dr. Savel sees it, the Holocaust is not 6 million people who were murdered, but as single individuals.

At the moment his site seems to be either hammered by traffic or is gone but you can get to the google cached version.
